Silver Strand began with a place.
A stretch of coastline connecting Coronado and Imperial Beach - where polished meets weathered, where the city gives way to the sea, and where beauty feels both effortless and lived-in.
The collection was inspired by that contrast.
Part coastal.
Part western.
Part refined.
Part wild.
It also reflects my relationship with my sister (this collection’s ambassador). While our styles are different, we’ve always found ourselves meeting somewhere in the middle. Silver Strand became that middle ground - a collection that blends her coastal cowgirl spirit with my love for intentional living, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
The result is a collection rooted in sun-faded afternoons, ocean air, well-made pieces, and the belief that life is better when we slow down enough to enjoy it.

Sometimes the right pieces find you. I first met Annsley Edwards at a farmers market in Jacksonville, FL while searching for the perfect market tote. I had looked everywhere for something that felt beautiful, functional, and timeless. I spotted it and it was immediately a yes, and actually her last one.
What began as a conversation about one bag quickly became a conversation about Benjals. I shared the vision for the brand, the kind of life I wanted it to encourage, and the values behind it. To my surprise, we found ourselves deeply aligned; not just in design, but in how we approach life, creativity, community, and craftsmanship.
Annsley became the very first maker to join Benjals.
Today, her handcrafted leather goods remain some of my favorite pieces in the collection. Every bag is thoughtfully made, designed to be carried often and kept for years. They feel lived-in from the start. The kind of piece that gets better with age and gathers stories along the way.

I found Beata-Te while walking the Coronado Art & Wine Festival with my son, Benji.
At the time, I had been searching for the perfect silk scarf; something timeless, versatile, and beautifully made. Nancy’s collection immediately caught my eye.
After trying one on, I knew I was going home with it.
As we talked, I shared the vision behind Benjals and, to my surprise, Nancy was immediately excited about it. What started as a conversation about scarves quickly turned into something more meaningful.
Then I learned what Beata-Te means.
In Italian, Beata-Te translates to “lucky you.”
For a collection centered around our phrase, Lucky to Be Here, it felt impossible to ignore.
I like to believe life leaves little clues for us sometimes, and this felt like one of them.
Beyond her beautiful pieces, Nancy is simply one of those people you enjoy being around. Nearly every time we’ve met, we’ve spent more time talking about life than we have talking about products. She’s thoughtful, warm, creative, and the kind of person who makes you feel welcome immediately.
